📍 From Carrer del Consejo de Ciento, Spain
Cases Cerdà and Carrer del Consejo de Ciento, located in the Eixample district of Barcelona, are two of the oldest streets in the city. Cases Cerdà was the brainchild of urban planner Ildefons Cerdà, designed in the mid-19th century for a more open, healthy and livable city. Today, the street is marked by its quiet vibe and its traditional storefronts, hosting some of the longest-existing businesses in Barcelona. Meanwhile, Carrer del Consejo de Ciento is right across the street and just as special. A narrow, winding road, it takes visitors through a maze of traditional buildings where they can see the harmonious coexistence of the modern and the ancient. Secrets, stories, hidden corners and a lot of life await the curious explorer.
