Casa Rosada
📍 Argentina
Casa Rosada, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a historic government building and one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city. It is situated in the center of the Plaza de Mayo and was used as the official seat of the President of Argentina until it moved to the Quirno Government Palace in 2018. On the grounds of the building are two plazas, one facing the Rio de la Plata and the other facing the city. The building itself is made up of two distinct yet harmonious sections - the modern facade facing the Plaza de Mayo, and the mid-19th century wing facing the river. The exterior of the building is characterised by its pink colour, which gave the building its name - Casa Rosada (‘Pink House’). This particular shade of pink is known as Painted Furniture Pink and came to be associated with the government and subsequently, the building. Casa Rosada is a must-see for anyone visiting Buenos Aires, and is a great place to take some photos.
