The Casa Consistorial in Alcúdia is the town hall set within the island town’s compact, walled medieval centre on Mallorca’s northern coast. Sitting on the old main square, its façade participates in a tight architectural ensemble of low, stone buildings, narrow streets and nearby stretch of medieval walls and towers; the building reads as a civic anchor rather than a monumental palace. For photographers the scene is about scale and context: the building’s modest, regular openings, wrought-iron balconies and stone textures frame incidental human activity in the square, while the geometry of surrounding arcades and the town’s fortifications provide compositional lines that lead the eye across layers of history. Access follows the pedestrian routes through the old town gates.
