Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge is a famous bridge near Ballintoy in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. The bridge connects the mainland to the tiny Carrick Island, and it is one of the most thrilling sights along the Antrim Coast. It is a single rope bridge suspended almost 30m above sea level and built by local fishermen in the 18th century to make it easier to access their fishing grounds. In the present day, the Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge is a great tourist attractions, and visitors can enjoy the astonishing view of Scotland and Rathlin Island not far away. It takes around 20 minutes of cliff-top walk to get to the bridge. Once you cross, you can get closer to the seabirds and other coastal wildlife. There are also many other nearby attractions if you decided to extend your stay in the area.
