📍 From Santa Justa Lift, Portugal
Carmo Convent and Santa Justa Lift are two of Lisbon’s most iconic and impressive landmarks. Located in the Baixa area of Lisbon, the Carmo Convent is a ruined convent originally built in the 14th century. It has had a turbulent history and its ruins are now the country's leading archaeological museum. The Santa Justa Lift, also known as the Elevador de Santa Justa, is a 19th century elevator and one of the few surviving examples of its kind in the world. It connects the Baixa district with Lisbon's highest neighborhood and offers stunning views of the city. The architecture of both sites are stunning and they are great places to visit in Lisbon. Carmo Convent is open daily and the Santa Justa Lift operates from 7am to 10pm.
