📍 Italy
Cappella di Pralongià is a small mountain chapel on the Pralongià plateau above Abtei, in the Ladin-speaking Alta Badia area of South Tyrol. Its modest form stands in striking contrast to the broad alpine meadows and the immense Dolomite skyline, where views extend toward the Sella and Fanes groups and, in clear weather, the Marmolada massif. The chapel’s isolation gives the scene its character: a simple sacred landmark amid pastureland, hiking routes, and winter slopes. Wide compositions emphasize the scale of the surrounding peaks, while closer views capture the chapel against changing grass, snow, cloud, and late-day mountain light.
