Capela do Senhor da Pedra is a beautiful chapel in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. It stands right at the waterfront of the Douro River, across from Porto. Its appealing, gothic-style facade and its unique location makes it a delight for photographers and tourists alike. As it has become a symbol of the city, it offers stunning views of the old town together with the Douro River. Its origins date back to 1612, when it was built to be the hermitage of the Brotherhood of Santiago. Recently restored, its interior holds examples of beautiful 17th-century tiles and sculpture. Take the path leading to the chapel and enjoy a pleasant stroll while taking in the stunning views and the freshness of the surrounding forestry.
