📍 From Blackhead Trail, Canada
Cape Spear Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse on the easternmost point of the continent of North America in St. John's, Canada. Dating back to 1835, it is the oldest surviving lighthouse in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador and serves as a symbol of welcoming for generations of sailors who passed this way. The view from the peak overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and nearby white cliffs. An Interpretation Centre nearby provides visitors with insight on the history, marine environment, and its importance to the local people. As Canada's most easterly point, its also said to be the first place in North America to see the sunrise. Despite its many visitors over the year, the old-style charm remains, making it a favorite spot for tourists. You can explore the park via its walking trails, the ideal spot for an early morning jog or leisurely stroll to take in the stunning views.
