The Cape Otway Lighthouse is located in Cape Otway, Australia and is the oldest surviving lighthouse on the Australian mainland. The 28-meter tall structure was first lit on 1 October 1848 and its light can be seen up to 19 nm away. It is a popular tourist destination, offering stunning views of the Great Ocean Road, Bass Strait, and the Southern Ocean. The lighthouse’s visitor center allows guests to learn about its history, climb the 114 steps to the top, and explore the accompanying museum. Other nearby attractions include the Otway Fly, the world’s longest and highest elevated tree top walk, and a variety of nearby wildlife reserves.
