Canterbury Cathedral located in Kent, United Kingdom, is a beautiful and grand ancient church that has served as the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury of the Church of England since the mid 6th century. Its remarkable architecture has remained largely unchanged throughout the centuries, making it a stunning example of Gothic architecture. Its main span has 161 feet, making it one of the tallest cathedrals in England.

The cathedral is home to several beautiful stained glass windows, the majority from the Middle Ages. Inside the cathedral are several chapels, including the Chapel of Thomas à Becket, and the tomb of the murdered Archbishop himself. Inside there are also numerous tombs, monuments and memorials to Archbishops and Kings. Another highlight of the Cathedral is the 12th century stone nave screen, known as the Great Screen. The Cathedral grounds offer a peaceful place for a relaxing stroll. It also houses an external museum in the cloisters, from which visitors can view some of the oldest parts of the Cathedral and captivating gardens. The Cathedral consists of a variety of well-maintained statues, and interesting pieces of sculpture placed in the right spots. In total, it is a fascinating and charming place not to miss out on any holiday.
