The Canals of Amsterdam in the Netherlands are a huge tourist attraction due to their centuries old architecture, cultural value, and sheer beauty. There are 165 canals, of which the three principal ones being Herengracht, Prinsengracht, and Keizersgracht. The canals are lined with 1700 bridges and are home to many small house boats. There are many iconic attractions like the Begijnhof and the Anne Frank Huis. The architectural style of the canal sides such as the 17th century Amsterdam Renaissance, Amsterdam School and Baroque blend together to create unique and extremely photogenic scenes. Cruise down the canals to experience the city as the locals do, stopping to enjoy cafes and restaurants as you go. Unique shopping experiences, street performances, and summer waterside getaways are all possible along the Canals of Amsterdam.
