Campanario de Santa Catalina is an impressive 18th century baroque tower located in the Spanish city of València. Built at the beginning of the 18th century, its purpose was originally to mark where the daily market would take place. Today the Campanario is the symbol of València, and the tower stands 35 meters tall.

The tower is decorated with ornamental stonework and sculptures made by renowned artists of the time. The Campanario is also surrounded by a surrounding wall and today it is the center of a garden along with a chapel and a playground. Every night at 10pm, the bell from the tower rings in honour of Our Lady of Aragón. The top of the vertical tower offers magnificent views of the city, the harbour and the Mediterranean Sea beyond. On a clear day, you can even see the Balearic Islands! An interesting feature of the tower is the sun dial at the bottom of the building, so you can easily tell the time in València. Visitors can climb up to the top of the tower and see its great views, the sculptures and the bell which can still be seen there. After seeing the tower and its wonderful panorama, make sure to grab a bite or have a drink in one of the many cafés around the tower in the vibrant neighbourhood.
