
Rann of Kutch is an open region located in the Thar Desert of the Kutch district, Gujarat, India. It is one of the largest production centers in India for salt and other items of economic importance. The salt and brine lakes in the region attract water birds and is also known as a paradise for birdwatchers, photographers, and wildlife lovers. The region is especially beautiful during the months of October and February when the region is graced with a white sheet of salt. During this time the area is also home to a number of festivals including the Rann Utsav, which is a picturesque celebration featuring folk music, camel rides, and cultural festivities.
