Cala Porticciolo is a small cove on the rocky coastline of Santa Cesarea Terme, on the southeastern Salento peninsula of Italy. The name — “little port” — signals its scale: a tucked, intimate inlet where limestone cliffs drop to a narrow strip of pebbles and clear, blue-green water. Visually it’s striking for the contrast between textured white rock and translucent sea, and for the way light scours cliff faces, revealing ledges, fractures and sea-worn hollows that photograph well in raking light. The cove reads as a focused coastal study rather than a broad landscape, making foreground rock textures and the water’s color the defining compositional elements. Santa Cesarea Terme’s thermal-town architecture and dramatic headlands form the broader context for images taken here.
