Caesar Keep is a fortress located in Provins, France that dates back to the Middle Ages. Built in 1150, it is known for its unique circular shape. It is one of the most important surviving fortified places of its time and was once owned by the powerful Counts of Champagne. Inside its walls, visitors will find the Tower of Caesar which was once the home of the castle’s guard. The castle’s main gate is located on the east side and can be accessed during normal visiting hours. Surrounding the fortress, there are gardens and other historic buildings such as the Great Keep and former barracks. A historic and beautiful part of Provins, Caesar Keep is one of the most iconic sights of the town and should not be missed.
