Burg Rabenstein is a 9th century castle located in Chemnitz, Germany. It is one of the few castles in German still preserved from the Middle Ages. It was initially built as a defensive structure and served as home for a family, who owned it until the 18th century. Today, the castle is a popular tourist attraction and provides an insight into the medieval lifestyle. You can visit the castle and its courtyards, as well as the wonderful gardens and terraces. The castle also houses a museum arboretum showcasing trees from around the world. The castle is surrounded by a moat, so you can go for a leisurely walk around the premises. Even though the castle itself is not open to visitors, the landscape, gardens and architecture make it a very interesting and enjoyable place to visit.
