The Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral, also known as the Catedral Metropolitana de Buenos Aires, is a must-visit for photo-travelers in Argentina. Standing out with its impressive neoclassical facade, this iconic cathedral is the main Catholic church in Buenos Aires and the seat of the Archbishop. Built in the 18th century, the cathedral has undergone several renovations, resulting in a unique blend of architectural styles. A major highlight of the cathedral is the mausoleum of General Jose de San Martin, one of Argentina's most revered heroes. Inside, visitors can also admire beautiful paintings, sculptures, and stained-glass windows. Be sure to check out the crypt where several important Argentine figures are buried. The cathedral also offers stunning panoramic views of the city from its rooftop, accessible by stairs or elevator. Keep in mind that photography is only allowed without flash, and visitors should dress modestly as it is a place of worship. Entry is free, but donations are appreciated.
