Bryn Athyn Cathedral, located in Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, is a masterpiece of Collegiate Gothic Revival architecture and a National Historic Landmark. Built to house the General Church of the New Jerusalem several years ago, it was constructed in three sections. The first is the Cathedral, a towering structure with a beautiful 91-foot high bell tower and a pair of exceptionally large doors. Inside, the Cathedral features intricate stained glass windows, ornate woodwork, and soaring arches. The second section is the Academy of the New Church, designed to look like a medieval castle and complete with an educational hall and library. The third section is Academy of the New Church Boys School, a boarding school for middle and high school boys. Today, Bryn Athyn Cathedral still functions as a house of worship, a place for learning, and a center for cultural and artistic events. Visitors can explore the grandeur of the Cathedral and its grounds, the magnificent stained glass windows and artwork, and the burial site of several generations of Swedenborgian Pioneers.
