The iconic Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States, stretching for over 1800m across the East River between Manhattan and Brooklyn. It was designed by German immigrant John Roebling in the mid-19th century and was the world's first steel-wire suspension bridge. Visitors can walk or cycle across the bridge, enjoying sweeping views of Manhattan to the north and Brooklyn to the south. Incredible sunsets create a memorable backdrop to take in the spectacular urban landscape. There are many vantage points at the bridge, including Brooklyn Bridge Park and the Brooklyn Promenade, both offering picturesque views of the bridge and the cityscape.
