📍 From Northside Drive, United States
Bridalveil Fall drops 620 feet (189 meters) at the western end of Yosemite Valley in California’s Yosemite National Park, southwest of Tuolumne Meadows. The waterfall spills from a hanging valley left above the main valley by glacial erosion, making the landscape’s geological history visible in a single dramatic drop. Wind pushes the water sideways and breaks it into a gauzy curtain, giving the fall its veil-like appearance. From Tunnel View, it forms a recognizable counterpoint to El Capitan across the valley, with Half Dome farther in the distance. Spring snowmelt brings a fuller cascade and abundant spray; as flow diminishes later in the year, the water becomes a finer ribbon against the granite cliff.
