The Brecon Beacons National Park, in Powys, United Kingdom, spans 520 square miles (1,349 km). It's fairly mountainous, with four main mountain ranges, the Black Mountain, Fforest Fawr, Brecon Beacons and Black Hill. It was established as a National Park in 1957, and it is also a designated International Dark Sky Reserve. The Park features a vast array of activities to join in on, such as cycling, walking trails, fishing, caving, and kayaking. Wildlife-watchers will have a field-day exploring the landscape, home to a diverse array of species including peregrine falcons, red kites, otters and badgers. Natural attractions include a number of spectacular waterfalls, such as Henrhyd Falls and Sgwd yr Eira. At the centrepiece of the Park lies the 5-mile stretch of Llangorse Lake, surrounded by lush pastures and fields, one of the most beautiful natural sites in Wales. Throughout the Park lie various Neolithic burial cairns, Iron Age Hillforts, majestic medieval castles and churches. The Brecon Beacons National Park is a stunning display of stunning natural beauty!
