Braies Lake

Braies Lake, or Lago di Braies in Italian, is an alpine lake located in the Dolomites region of northern Italy. It is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Alpine region in all of Europe, with its turquoise waters and breathtaking views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains. Located at an altitude of 1,494 meters and stretching 1.2 km in length, Braies Lake is a popular destination for hikers, bikers, and sightseers. Visitors can take a walk along some of the paths that encircle the lake, or take a boat ride for a unique glimpse of the scenery. There are also numerous surrounding trails for mountain biking, horseback rides and other activities. A small church, the San PRano church, is situated on the lake’s eastern shore and is often used as a backdrop for wedding photos. On the opposite side of the lake is an iconic lake house, called the Prato Piazza, which makes for a striking backdrop in many photos. A stone boat jetty and several footbridges also provide popular photo opportunities.
