Bovbjerg Fyr is a historic Danish lighthouse located on the coast of Lemvig in north-west Jutland, Denmark. The lighthouse was built in 1899 and it is still in operation. It is made of cast iron and is 23 metres (75 feet) tall. Bovbjerg Fyr overlooks the North Sea and its light can be seen for up to 20 miles at sea. It is amongst the most visited sites in western Jutland. It can be reached from the main town of Lemvig called Hjerl Hede. The structure of the lighthouse is worth the visit, but visitors can also enjoy breathtaking views from its top. Every June, a marathon called the Bovbjerg Fyr Marathon starts from the lighthouse and offers a different kind of view of the coastal scenery.
