Boothuis is a small bay-side village on the shore of the Chiemsee in Rimsting, Germany. It is one of the few villages in the area that has remained untouched over the years, giving it an old-world, fairy-tale look. The village has several attractions, such as a 17th-century castle, a nineteenth-century church, and a lovely park with views overlooking the lake. The main attraction, however, is the Old Fishermen's Cottage, also called the Boothuis. Visitors can explore the old house and its lovely furnishings in the winter, while in summer they can even rent it as a holiday cottage. The village is also very popular in summer for its excellent swimming and sailing opportunities. Visitors can enjoy the views of the lake, or take a lazy stroll along the peaceful waterfront pier.
