Bonsai Rock is one of the most photographed features of Nevada's Carson City. Its iconic look and convenient location is what makes it so popular among photographers and tourists. The protruding rocks, surrounded by water on three sides, have been shaped by wind and water over millions of years. Its most popular feature can be found at the bottom of the rock, where an ingrown Bonsai tree has been growing for many years. It is easily accessed from the shore and is an excellent spot for taking photos during sunrise or sunset. There is plenty of parking nearby and it is free to visit.
