Bolinder Palace
📍 Sweden
Bolinder Palace is a 19th-century mansion on Blasieholmen’s waterfront in central Stockholm, now part of the Grand Hôtel. Built in the 1870s for industrialist Jean Bolinder to designs by Helgo Zettervall, it reflects the wealth and architectural ambition of Sweden’s industrial era. Its richly ornamented Renaissance Revival façade gives the former private residence a distinct identity within the hotel complex. Across the water stands the Royal Palace, placing Bolinder’s display of industrial prosperity opposite the city’s royal seat. Waterfront views reveal this relationship, while closer compositions bring out the façade’s layered decoration.
