Bodø Port, in Vestbyen, Norway, is a commercial port situated at the shore of the vast and deep waters of the Saltenfjord. The harbor itself is situated in a protected natural bay and the waterfront is surrounded by the Vestbyen district of the city. The port is an integral part of the local economy and serves many types of craft, from smaller passenger ships to commercial fishing vessels. At the western entrance to the port stands the historic 19th century lighthouse and guard tower, offering beautiful views of the bay. Here, tourists and locals alike enjoy a leisurely stroll down the waterfront, admire the cityscape, and observe the activity of the harbor. On the eastern end, there is a bustling marina and small fishing village, where you can buy fresh fish directly from the fishermen. Across the bay, visitors can explore the Maritime Museum, which provides insight into Bodø's intricate maritime heritage.
