Blejski otok, known as Bled Island, is the only natural island in Slovenia, set in the emerald waters of Lake Bled. This picturesque spot is mostly famous for its historic 17th-century Church of the Assumption, featuring a Baroque stairway with 99 steps leading up to it. Photographers will appreciate the island's ethereal charm against the backdrop of the Julian Alps. Early morning or late afternoon light is perfect for capturing the reflection of the island and church in the calm lake waters. To get the best view, consider hiking up to the Ojstrica or Mala Osojnica viewpoints. Remember to take a traditional Pletna boat to reach the island, offering unique angles of surrounding landscapes.
