📍 Austria
Blaue Lacke is a small high-alpine lake above the Sulzenauhütte in Neustift’s upper Stubai Valley, reached on the WildeWasserWeg hiking route. Formed in terrain exposed by the retreating Sulzenauferner glacier, it is known for blue-turquoise water colored by fine glacial sediment. Dark rock, pale scree and the surrounding peaks give the compact basin a striking sense of scale, while calm conditions can produce clear mountain reflections. Access is on foot via a marked mountain trail, with conditions shaped by snow and alpine weather.
