Blackfriars Bridge is an iconic footbridge in Greater London, the United Kingdom. It spans the River Thames, connecting the City of London to South Bank, connecting both banks of the river. Completed in 1869, it was designed by Joseph Cubitt and has been partially refurbished in recent years. Its most striking feature is the pair of Egyptian-style cat statues, created by sculptor Oskar Nemon, at either end of the bridge. The bridge is an important link across the Thames for pedestrians and cyclists, offering easy access to the city center. The views of the cityscape from the bridge are spectacular and offer a unique insight into the life of Londoners.
