📍 From Inside, Romania
Biserica Preasfânta Inimă a lui Isus, the Roman Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, stands in Ditrău, in the Gheorgheni Basin of Romania’s Harghita County. Built in the early 20th century, this monumental Neo-Gothic church is a prominent expression of the Catholic heritage of the area’s Hungarian-speaking Székely community. Its twin spires rise far above the village roofs, making the church a defining feature of the local skyline. The symmetrical façade, pointed-arch windows and richly articulated towers give exterior views a strong vertical rhythm; inside, ribbed vaults and stained glass carry that same Gothic vocabulary into the tall nave.
