Binnenhof is a historic government building in the center of The Hague in the Netherlands. It is the meeting space of both houses of the States General of the Netherlands as well as the office of the Prime Minister. In 1250, the area of Binnenhof was bought by Count Floris IV and became part of the Count's private property. Over the following centuries, the area was used by various royals for parliaments, receptions and festivities. In 1565, the first palace was built and the area was transformed into a court. Nowadays, visitors can explore the centuries-old buildings with courtyards, alleyways and sculptures to discover. Wander around and find the Senate, or sit in the public visitors gallery in the House of Representatives. There is also a lovely cafe on the ground floor to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee when visiting. The Binnenhof is a beautiful sight with its historical atmosphere. A must-see when visiting The Hague.
