Biblioteca Central UNAM is the main library of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Founded in 1553, it is the oldest library in the Americas and holds a precious collection of books and manuscripts. It is a popular destination for tourists and photographers alike, thanks to its impressive architecture and neoclassical mural.The building's facade boasts five monumental inlays and grand iron gates that once hosted the university's private collection. Inside, beautiful tree-lined corridors offer a peaceful atmosphere, and one can find several artworks surrounding the highest point of the edifice. A must-see attraction is a huge fountain that sits in the middle of the patio and features some of the symbols of Mexico.
