Bessastadir is a small village in Alftanes, just to the south of Reykjavik, Iceland. The village is home to a presidential residence and a golf course. Visitors can explore the area around Bessastadir - walking along the golf course, going horseback riding, or exploring the nearby lake. There are several interesting sights, such as the ruins of an old church from 1255, a beautiful river, and a spectacular view of the Reykjanes peninsula. Visitors can also find a memorial to the victims of World War I in the nearby cemetery. The area around Bessastadir is a great place to explore with plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy.
