The Berlin Wall Memorial in Budapest, Hungary is a monument that is dedicated to the more than 200,000 Hungarians who fled their homes during the 1956 Revolution. Initially, a large, dark-grey steel wall with an open gate was erected to represent the Berlin Wall, but since then, there have been numerous sculptures and murals added to this site. The Wall memorial serves as a symbol of the events that occurred during that time, and of the freedom and peace that Hungarians now enjoy.
