The Benjamin Franklin Bridge spans the Delaware River, connecting the cities of Philadelphia and Camden, New Jersey. Crossing the bridge offers spectacular views of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Delaware River, and the Camden Waterfront. Built in 1926 by the famed engineer Paul Philippe Cret, the bridge stands 330 ft above the Delaware River, making it the world’s longest steel arch bridge at the time of its completion. Today it is the Gateway to Philadelphia and Camden. The bridge features a walkway wide enough for bicyclers and pedestrians to cross, accessible from the Pennsylvania and New Jersey sides. Views of the city and river can also be enjoyed while kayaking or river cruising.
