📍 United Kingdom
Belhaven Bridge crosses the Biel Water at Belhaven Bay, on the western edge of Dunbar in East Lothian’s John Muir Country Park. Better known as the “Bridge to Nowhere”, the small footbridge becomes isolated by water at high tide, while at low tide the stream winds beneath it across a broad expanse of sand. This tidal transformation gives the structure its distinctive character: simple railings and piers stand against shifting channels, reflective pools, dunes and a wide North Sea horizon. Its appearance can change markedly within hours, from a lone silhouette surrounded by water to a clear crossing embedded in the beach landscape.
