Bastion de l'Etendard is an imposing fortification that stands sentinel over the cliffs of Bonifacio in southern Corsica, France. Built in 1583, it stands atop one of the highest points in the area and has views out to sea. Accessible by a winding road off the main coastal road, it is a must-see for anyone visiting the region. Visitors can explore the old dungeon, remains of the cannons and several balconies of the Bastion with commanding views of the town below and out over the Mediterranean. In addition to the impressive views and historic architecture of the Bastion, its walls are adorned with some of the most exquisite murals in Corsica.
