The Basteibrücke (“Bastion Bridge”) is a sandstone arch bridge located in the Saxon Switzerland National Park, close to Lohmen, Germany. The bridge was constructed in 1824 and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, cliffs and gorges. It is 275 feet long and 179 feet high. Popular among hikers, the bridge is part of a longer trail route along the edge of the national park, allowing visitors to explore the nature and culture of the region. Activities such as cycling, walking and rock climbing are also widely popular in this area due to the nearby mountain and cliff’s formations. If you were looking for photos, the best times would be when lighting is low, as the bridge is best highlighted at sunrise/sunset.
