The Basilica di Santa Croce di Firenze is an awe-inspiring 14th century Franciscan church located in the historic center of Florence. Built in 1294, it is the largest Franciscan church in the world and the burial place of some of the most important figures in the history of Italy, such as Galileo Galilei, Michelangelo, and Dante Alighieri. The exterior is decorated with two imposing facades, both designed by the famous Italian artist, Arnolfo di Cambio. Inside, visitors can admire the stunning frescoes by Giotto and the many sculptures, including the funerary monuments of Galileo and Michelangelo.
