๐ From Prato della Valle, Italy
The Basilica di Sant'Antonio di Padova, located in the city of Padova in Northern Italy, is the basilica of Saint Anthony, the patron saint of the region of Veneto. Built in 1232, this basilica is a stunning example of traditional Italian Gothic style, with distinctive rose-colored marble in its interior. It is one of the largest churches in Italy, with its round style, magnificent dome and four corner towers, topped by the Loggia del Santo. A visit here rewards tourists and photographers with many opportunities to marvel at its unique architecture and the artistry on its walls and ceilings, such as Giotto's fresco cycle depicting St. Anthony's alleged miracles. The tombs of various famous citizens can also be found here, as well as the relics of St. Anthony. It is truly a place of beauty and one of the most sacred places in all of Italy.
