The Basilica di San't Andrea is a beautiful Renaissance-style church located in the Italian city of Mantova. Built in the 1490s by architect Leon Battista Alberti, the church is renowned for its unique architecture, featuring an octagonal dome and two bell towers. Inside, visitors can admire 16th-century frescoes, some by the renowned Renaissance painter Giulio Romano and others by Gillis van Coninxloo. Other highlights are the monument dedicated to the Gonzaga family; the altarpiece and choir stalls created between 1571 and 1574; the pulpit and choir railing crafted by Tibaldi and Ricchi; and Carpaccio's painting depicting St. John the Baptist. While the church's exterior clearly makes it a must-see, its majestic interior makes visiting the Basilica di Sant'Andrea an unforgettable experience.
