Barranco del Diablo
๐Ÿ“ Spain
Barranco del Diablo is a steep, narrow ravine cutting the hillsides above the village of Santa Eulalia la Mayor in northern Spain. The gorge exposes bare rock faces and layered strata that reveal the local geology and erosion patterns, while scrub and pines cling to ledges, giving a strong texture contrast between stone and vegetation. Photographically it rewards compositions that play scale against the village below or that isolate the vertical cliffs and sinuous rock bands; late-afternoon or early-morning light sculpts deep shadows and brings out warm tonal layers. After rain the rock shows darker streaks and enhanced color contrast. Paths from the village lead toward viewpoints; treat the terrain with caution where slopes are steep.
