Bar Turrisi occupies a historic building on Piazza Duomo in Castelmola, the hilltop village above Taormina. The bar is renowned for its exuberant fertility-themed interior: carved wooden phalluses appear in lamps, handles, furniture and decorative details across several levels, turning an ancient Mediterranean symbol of abundance into a playful visual identity. Its dark wood, stonework and crowded ornamentation create richly textured photographs, while tables around the square place the scene within Castelmola’s compact village life. The signature drink is vino alla mandorla, a sweet almond-flavoured wine associated with the town.
