📍 India
Bandra Fort is located in the city of Mumbai, India. It was built in the 1640s by the Portuguese. The fort sits atop the hill of Sion Koliwada, overlooking the Western Suburbs of Mumbai. It is a prime tourist attraction, because it has the Arabian Sea on one side and a number of Mumbai landmarks on the other. The entrance to the fort is through a partially dilapidated door at the north eastern corner and from there, one passes through a narrow lane to a large courtyard.
The walls of the fort provided a stunning backdrop for epic battles during the colonial period. Today, the fort is a popular spot among locals as well as tourists. It offers stunning views of the city and is home to several shops and a Cafe. There is also a open-air amphitheatre ‘Surajkund’ which hosts cultural performances and concerts. The fort is an ideal spot to savor the city views, hop over to nearby cafes, and take leisurely strolls.
