Balloch Castle is a historical castle located in the Scottish town of Balloch near Loch Lomond, Scotland. The castle is now a hotel, so visitors are not allowed to explore the castle itself. However, it is still worth a visit for its spectacular views of the loch. The castle was first built in the 15th century by the Colquhouns and was a stronghold until 1648 when it was turned over to the crown after the Civil War. Its grounds are home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, foxes, badgers, and a variety of bird species. Visitors can also explore the grounds by taking a leisurely stroll along the paths that pass through the manicured grounds. There is a gravel parking lot located at the entrance of the castle, as well as a Visitor Centre which frequently hosts events.
