Baligou Park, more commonly known as Baligou Scenic Area, lies in Huixian under Xinxiang, where the southern Taihang Mountains rise above the plains of northern Henan. Rather than an urban park, it is a mountain gorge landscape shaped by streams, waterfalls, pools and steep rock walls, with wooded slopes softening the rugged terrain. Its most recognizable scenes pair pale cliffs with ribbons of falling water, while narrow paths and elevated viewpoints emphasize the depth and scale of the valley. Water volume and vegetation vary strongly with the seasons, changing the gorge from lush summer greens to warmer autumn tones and, in cold periods, occasional ice formations.
