Baily Lighthouse
📍 From Viewpoint, Ireland
The Baily Lighthouse stands in the southern part of Howth Head, Dublin, Ireland. It was built in 1814 and marks the entrance of Dublin Bay. It is situated 28 metres above sea level and is one of the two major land lighthouses of Dublin. The building stands about 14 metres tall, with a daymark at the top and a fog horn installed in 1911. A walk up to the lighthouse still displays some of the original structures like one of the old fog-signalling houses and the stone walls built to protect the people from storms. Visitors can usually find the lighthouse keeper tending to the structure and telling them tales of its history. And of course, it offers stunning coastal views overlooking Ireland's capital.
