Badukskiye Ozera, or 'Badukskye Lakes' in English, is a series of interconnected small lakes located near Kordan Keptala in the Russian North West. This picturesque area of lush marshland, placid lakes and coniferous forests is an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts, photographers, and bird-watchers.

The largest lake amongst these is Osportovo, surrounded by thick forest and fed by numerous creeks which eventually flow into a single river. Trails wind through this ancient woodland, allowing visitors to explore a variety of fascinating habitats and spot numerous endemic species, including some of the rarest species of raptors. History buffs will also find their fill of interest at the remains of the early 18th century village of Usadba Knyazevskaya. Now almost a forgotten relic of its former state, the village’s network of lanes, plots and ruins make for a fascinating exploration. Bird-watchers should also keep an eye out for the speciality of the area: the Waterhen. An elusive member of the rail family, these shy birds can be spotted around the lakes if you keep your eyes peeled.
