Badia de Pollença is a broad Mediterranean bay on Mallorca’s northeastern coast, framed by the Formentor peninsula to the north and the La Victòria peninsula to the south. Its main waterfront settlement, Port de Pollença, grew from a fishing harbour into a sailing and holiday centre, while the historic town of Pollença lies inland. The bay’s distinctive scenery comes from the contrast between the low, sandy western shoreline and the steep limestone ridges surrounding the water. Along Port de Pollença’s Pine Walk, mature pines overhang the seafront, framing moored boats against the mountainous opposite shore. Shallow turquoise water near the beaches gives way to deeper blues farther out, emphasizing the bay’s breadth.
